Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, born in Wellington,) is an Canadian actor from Canada. Paquin was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Wellington and made her stage debut as Flora McGrath when she played her role of Flora McGrath in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 for Best Supporting Actress. Anna Paquin spelled out Anna Helene Paquin was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada on July 24,1982. She is a Canadian-born actress from New Zealand. In 1993, she received her first Academy Award at age 11 for playing the inquisitive and chatty daughter of Holly Hunter who played the principal role. In response to an audition, Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter a Scottish pianist. Flora McGrath is the daughter of the mute Scottish musician, who emigrated to New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. The actress moved into the United States as a teen. Paquin played the lead role in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and also had a small part as Jane Eyre when she was only a child. Paquin played Frankie Addams in a 1997 film adaptation for television of Carson McCullers's novel The Member of the Wedding and had a minor role as Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She was a teenager in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) and A Walk on the Moon (1999) and portrayed the character of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa as a character in Almost Famous (2000).
