Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist as well as a businessperson. She co-founded The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington, an independently-owned Liberal news site, is a television personality author, author and philanthropist. Her birthplace was in Greece and immigrated to England in the year sixteen. Then, at Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA of Economics. Being the first non-English-speaking student, she was elected president of The Cambridge Union' at the age of 21. After after her college graduation, she was an important conservative syndicated journalist. After a few years later she created The Huffington Post which featured critical commentary on the current political climate. The fame of her name helped to get a number of prominent contributors to post their views about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna rose to fame in 2003 when she decided to be an independent presidential candidate during the California recall vote to succeed the then governor Davis. Alongside this, she led the Detroit Project for efficient vehicles that use less fuel. In 2009 she was recognized by Forbes as the most influential women in media. She was ranked 12th spot on the list. The same year the Guardian included her in the Top 100 Media list. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she became president of this media group. The acquisition included numerous AOL properties at the time such as Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. The couple she was born to were journalist and manager Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. She was very close with her father, but it is her bond with her mother which shaped her. Even during her formative time, she showed leadership skills for which she remains well-known. At 16 years of age she moved to the United Kingdom to pursue her education and was enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. She joined the Cambridge Union college debate society as a student as she was the 3rd and only female to serve as the president. She graduated in 1972 with a Master's Degree in Economics. In the years following when she graduated, she was a TV host and columnist. Also, she appeared on the series Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books, utilizing editorial guidance from the latter.
