Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to 12 children from a poor family kids who would grow together eventually, learned very young how to overcome of her difficulties by using her rich and vivid imagination. Before she learned to read and write she had already composed the songs she wrote herself. Within 8 years she was playing her first guitar. At age 11, she began to sing on Knoxville Tenn's radio station. The first album she recorded was within the same calendar year Gold Band Records, a small label that was an independent. Even though she became popular in the local scene while she was at high school, her ambitions were much bigger. The day after she graduated in 1964, she moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (both 1967) and Something Fishy were among her first Monument Records chart-topping records. Porter Wagoner's syndicated tv show required a new singer at around the time. Parton was hired in the year 1967, signed with RCA Records by 1968, and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Parton left the show however, in 1974 because her solo albums such as Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene beat out their collaborative albums. Parton recorded "I will Always Be Loving You" to Wagoner just after the pair split. The song reached the top spot at No. In 1974, Parton's song"I Will Never Love You climbed to No.
